Note although there are more shorts on this database (over 8000) there is more information (and a picture) for some films distributed after 1998 at the British Council . There is also a small amount of non UK material, eg shorts by well known directors, prestigious festival winners etc., see the help section.

We have had lots of requests to add different search capabilities, here are some of them, others may be implimented shortly:

the description search box covers the 2 description fields and film awards so as well as words that might be included in a synopsis, you can search on things like "Cannes", or "Lottery" , sometime the film stock or video camera details appears in this search (eg try T500 or XL1) Also locations (eg Newcastle) .Even just "£" to show (with some licence..) the buget
format search eg
